Artesia SocialMatchâ„¢
Artesia SocialMatch™
Projects in the fields of social media and online communities are often closer to alchemy than science. Our SocialMatch™ methodology enables enterprises to accurately define the project, customize it to target user types, define success metrics, educate employees, help with the first steps and adjust the project to user needs if needed.
General process
The methodology is comprised of the following steps:
- Target user definition
- Company purpose definition
- Added value defitinition, based on the target users and company purpose
- Define community parameters and software specification
- Implement the software specification and educate employees
- Start the project and assist with the first steps

First phase process
Users
The social profile of the target users - the social and community tools they use and are most appropriate when reaching out to them - are a crucial input when designing the social media strategy or a community platform. Based on Forester Research definition, we define the users as:
- Creators: create content (blogs, ..)
- Critics: rate and add to content (rate movies, news, ..)
- Collectors: collect and share interesting information (using social bookmarking tools like Delicious)
- Joiners: join social networking communities
- Observers: passive information receivers
- Inactives: do not participate

Types of participants
We use the SocialMatch™ methodology in all our social media and online community projects. Artesia is also presenting the methodology at the Mindtrek 2008 conference - a leading European social media and user community event. The methodology is described in more detail in the Building communities whitepaper, which is available in the library.
